Chloé
Since the time when the young and wealthy aristocrat Gaby Aghion came from Egypt to Paris, the story of one of the most romantic fashion houses in France began. Gaby arrived to Paris in 1945, at this time the postwar style reigned in style: the women looked like men, they wore short haircuts, straight skirts just above the knee and the jacket with broad shoulders. In 1947, Christian Dior revived the haute couture traditions and returned to women their former luxury and beauty. Catching fashion trends, tired of social life, Gaby decided to do fashion modeling. So, young beauty with Egyptian roots started her career with six cotton dresses, which later grew into the whole industry. Sketches of six dresses she painted were for one of her friends. Soon, with the help of two tailors, the Gaby embodied the sketches in life. She put the ready clothes in a small suitcase and went to show them to the most famous boutiques of Paris. Karven, Jacques Fach and Dior, dictators of the style of that time, became the first happy owners of Gaby's clothes. These masters of "high sewing" were struck by the elusive grace and lightness of the outfits. It is not surprising that next to such names, the affairs of the young adventurer went uphill. Soon in her house was made a tiny studio, where Gaby with two assistants began to create clothes from Chloé. Gaby did not recognize the stiff fashion of that time, her outfits were sensual and touching. The texture of the fabrics from which the clothes were made was soft, and the silhouettes were feminine and airy. This style remains unchanged in the House of Chloé to this day.
