Nina Ricci
The company was officially registered in 1932 by the designer Nina Ricci, who opened the company together with her son Robert. In the same year, in the capital of France the first corporate boutique of the company opens at Kapuzinok Boulevard 20. Nina was then engaged in sewing clothes, while her son was in charge of the company's commercial activities. Soon, Nina Ricci hires 40 employees to work as apprentices.
By the time Nina founded her own brand, her name was already known throughout the city, as she worked for about 20 years at the Raffin Fashion House. During that years, Nina managed to get an idea of the preferences of her clients. Taking as a basis the feminine silhouettes that emphasized the waistline, Nina began with the use of various draperies and appliqués, decorating the outfits with bows and ruffles. Already in the first months, the brand of Nina began to differ from competitors with impeccable cut, exquisite design, materials of exceptionally high quality and relatively low prices, which French fashion houses "Paul Poiret" and "Lanvin" could not offer. In order for the dress to have an ideal fit, Nina worked on fabrics exclusively on the model. The basic wardrobe of the brand initially included a classic costume, an evening dress with drapes, and a small black dress.
